First day of my Preceptorship

I started at 8am at a home health agency for my 64 hrs of clinical to complete what I need to get back my RN license. I let it go in 2003 never thinking I would have to go back to work at age 58.
So my day started slow and continued to be an easy slow day.
I saw three clients with a nurse. It was pretty slow stuff and read the remainder of the day.
I hope tomorrow I will see more clients and get to see and do more.
Not much else to say.
8-5 today Not bad.

Here begins my Journey.

I have been a travel consultant for the past 16 yrs. It made enough money for me to travel around the world. Now business has slowed and I need to earn more money before I get too old.. I am already now 58 yrs. old. That is not old but it does limit my earning years.
I have given up my travels for now and vow only to go somewhere once a year.
I decided in early 2009 I would go back to nursing. I had been away for a very long time but I could see that the economy mandated I return to a paying job.
I looked on line for a way to renew my RN license. I had placed it on inactive in 2003.
Now to reinstate I have had to take a refresher course.
I chose Austin Community College distance learning for my didactic and will have my clinical locally with a home heath agency.
Everyone has been very supportive. I was worried and still am as it has been a LONG TIME since I worked full time.
Monday morning I will go to my clinical for the first day. I will let you know how that is going.
I am looking forward to beginning my new life.
More later.
